What happens when the crowd doesn’t show up? This night at The Underground in Bradford wasn’t defined by numbers, but by the bands who played regardless—bringing energy, intent, and connection to a room that never quite filled. From local acts to touring musicians, it became less about turnout and more about what live music looks like when everything else is stripped back, offering a different perspective on performance, community, and the moments that often go unnoticed.

Some nights don’t follow the plan you arrive with. This one shifted through conversation, atmosphere, and chance encounters, leading me from a support set into something deeper—where Proud Mary’s history, presence, and quiet confidence changed the way I saw the night entirely.

On a cold November night in a packed upstairs bar in Leeds, my first ever live music shoot quickly turned into something far bigger than expected.
